“A vehicle is an essential part of the American lifestyle — something many people, including myself, often take for granted. I never fully appreciated this until I no longer had a reliable one.
I was recently accepted into a University 30 minutes away, I was worried and thinking about withdrawing because my old car had more problems than positives. It could not get me there safely. I lived in constant anxiety because my vehicle would shut off in the middle of the road, it would not drive above 25mph, and the roof leaked during the rain so I had to figure out ways to keep dry.
Now that I have a working vehicle, the impact on my life has been astronomical! Second Gear restored peace, stability, and joy to my daily routine, and they have played a major role in helping me work toward my future goals.

Javier has faced many challenges and setbacks in his life, but he has remained focused on his goal to complete his education, work hard, provide for his family, and live a life honoring to God. Without a car, the daily transportation costs to college and work were too great to continue. The car provided from Second Gear has enabled Javier to stay in college while working. This semester he will obtain his Associate’s degree in criminal justice and continue to pursue his dream of being a police officer. He is the first person in his family for 3 generations to graduate high school and the only one ever to attend and complete a college degree. Thank you for helping make this possible.
